Visit capture

Works where care happens.

Caregivers clock in and out from their phone's browser, in basements, on rural routes, and anywhere else the signal drops. Every visit is captured with GPS at both ends and held securely until it can be sent.

Clock in and out

Built for one hand and a busy visit.

The caregiver opens today's visit, taps to clock in, and taps again to clock out. Screens are simple, and nothing gets in the way of care.

  • Driven by the schedule

Today's visits are on the home screen. Clock-in starts from the scheduled visit, so the client and service are already filled in.

  • Tasks and notes at clock-out

Caregivers mark each care plan task as completed or refused, add notes, and confirm the visit summary.

  • Sized for a thumb

Buttons and fields are well above the 44-pixel minimum for comfortable one-handed use.

Offline

No signal doesn't mean a missed visit.

Visit capture is designed around dead zones, not bolted on for them. The phone keeps the visit safe until it can reach Garnet.

  • Encrypted before it's stored

Each visit is encrypted with AES-256 before it's saved on the phone, and removed from the phone once Garnet has it.

  • Sent when signal returns

Waiting visits send in the order they were captured, as soon as the app is open with a connection. There's nothing for the caregiver to remember.

  • Never recorded twice

If a send is interrupted and retried, Garnet recognizes the visit and doesn't create a duplicate.

  • Opens without a connection

The app is saved on the phone, so clock-in loads even with no signal at the door.

GPS verification

Location at both ends of the visit.

GPS is captured when the caregiver clocks in and again at clock-out, along with the accuracy the phone reports. Location isn't tracked in between.

  • Checked against the service address

Garnet compares each capture with the client's service address, allowing for the reported accuracy.

  • Flagged, not blocked

A visit far from the address is still recorded, and marked for a supervisor to review. Care is never held up at the door.

  • When GPS isn't available

The caregiver can enter the visit manually with your state's approved reason code, a note where one is required, and an attestation.

  • Location data kept to a minimum

Only the clock-in and clock-out points are captured. There's no tracking during or between visits.

Small details that make visit data complete.

EVV data is only as complete as caregivers' use of it in the field. These are the details that help.

  • On the home screen

Caregivers add Garnet to their home screen from the browser. There's no app store and nothing to update.
  • By invitation from your agency

Each caregiver is invited by your agency and sees only their own visits and assigned clients.
  • All six Cures Act elements

Service, client, date, location, caregiver, and start and end times are captured with every visit.
  • Unscheduled visits

A visit that happens off the schedule is still captured, and shown to supervisors as unscheduled.
  • Nothing waits unnoticed

A visit held on the phone for more than three hours is marked in the app so it gets attention.
  • One open visit at a time

A caregiver can't clock in twice for the same client before clocking out.
